Looking to get your cleaning closet supplies organized? These cleaning closet organization hacks are for you!
We can all agree that cleaning is a project in itself. Having all of your supplies organized and accessible will make any cleaning project that much easier.
Whether you are moving into a new home or an apartment, or you are simply looking to give your current space a makeover, this post is filled with hacks, recommendations and inspiration for the cleaning closet of your dreams.
This post will cover a number of different ways you can organize the products and items you have so they are easy to grab when you need them!
This post is all about cleaning closet organization!
1. Cleaning Supplies Closet
Designating a closet in your home for all of your cleaning supplies is a great way to get organized. It will allow you to have all of your supplies in one place so when you are ready to start a cleaning project, you can grab everything you need.
If you do not have the closet space to allow for this, you can find additional hacks for under cabinet organization in this post.
Examples of products you can organize in this closet are…
- Paper Towels
- Microfiber Towels/Sponges
- Mop/Steam Mop
- Vacuum/Broom/Dust Pan
- Cleaning Supplies
- Plastic Shopping Bags/Trash Bags
- Dusters
- Etc
2. Wall Mounted Cleaning Supplies Organizer
Having products on the floor or leaned up against the wall is not always the best use of a space. By mounting something on your wall or door, you can get your products off of the floor which is so nice! It makes them easier to grab and gives your closet a more organized look.
I love this organizer. It is a great price and has two different features. You can hang items like your mop, broom or Swiffer while also using the hooks for brushes, a dust pan or cleaning towels. You could mount this to your wall or the door of the closet.
By getting these items off your floor you can open up space on the floor for things like bins or caddies that can hold other supplies like spray bottles and additional towels.
I also love having my Dyson mounted. This way, you can charge it while having it stored!
3. Cleaning Supply Storage Organizers
These acrylic bins are a life saver for cleaning supply organization. Each one fits a number of different products and the clear acrylic allows you to see what you have and what you might need to repurchase. I love that they have handles so you can pick them up easily.
It would be super helpful to have these organized by category. That way you can grab one bin will all of your bathroom cleaning supplies if needed. Some of the categories you could organize by are below.
- Kitchen Cleaning Supplies
- Bathroom Cleaning Supplies
- Towels & Sponges
- Dusting Supplies
An additional hack is to label your bins! I love using a label maker or purchasing labels off of Etsy or Amazon. It really elevates the look of your space and helps keep you organized as you take out items and return them.
Any type of basket or bin is a phenomenal way to organize your products. Although Amazon has great options, I always stop by my dollar store to see what they have! Nothing beats organizers under $5.
4. Small Cleaning Closet Organization
My cleaning supplies closet is not very large, but I certainly have a lot of products I am working with.
If you have a closet that doesn’t have a lot of shelving or is generally just a tight space, this over the door organizer is for you!
It gives you some shelving without having to install anything permanently in the closet. I love that this isn’t permanent so it is extremely renter friendly.
Always remember, just because you have a small space doesn’t mean it can’t be organized! There is always a way to utilize whatever space you have to the best of your ability. Thankfully there are a ton of options out there for you.
5. Additional Recommendations
These turntables are an amazing way to organize your cleaning supplies. Instead of having to move items out of the way to get something from the back of the shelf, you can just rotate the acrylic turntable to grab from the other side. These are great because you can honestly use them in any area of your home.
Products to Organize
- Cleaning Supplies
- Spices/Oils/Vinegars
- Medications
- Beauty Supplies
- Home Improvement Supplies
- Etc
This is another great item if you are looking to organize vertically due to a lack of shelving or a narrow closet. I love that the drawers pull out and that they are stacked versus using bins that sit side by side. This would be great in a cleaning supplies closet but I also love the idea of using it for laundry supplies.
You will be surprised how amazing it feels to have a space like this organized. The last thing you want to find yourself doing before you even start cleaning is searching through your closet for the items that you need.
It is a great feeling to go into your cleaning closet and know where everything is. It also helps when looking for what you might need to restock so you always have your go-to products on hand.
Although Amazon has a ton of different organization options for you, I always love to visit the organization section of places like Home Goods, Walmart, The Dollar Store, Target, etc! It is shocking how many affordable options there are so you don’t need to break the bank!
Also remember that you can tackle this project over time. Don’t think you need to get everything all at once. You can always give it a go and see what options work for you and tweak it if you think there is an easier solution.
These hacks/recommendations are very affordable but really give your space an extreme makeover that you will love.
