Are you looking to organize your fridge in a few simple steps? These DIY Fridge Organization Ideas will take your fridge to the next level!
I have personally been working on getting my fridge organized for quite some time. I have tried some items that I love and some that I hate.
We are working with a very simple fridge that was here when we moved in. Although I have had my eyes on some upgrades, I have been working to organize the one we have as best as possible in the meantime.
We are limited on space and drawers so it can be difficult at times to see everything that we have. There is nothing more frustrating than noticing something was buried and it going back before you use it.
There are a ton of options when it comes to products and systems for fridge organization but I am excited to share what has worked for us.
This post is all about DIY fridge organization ideas!
DIY Fridge Organization Ideas
When you do not have a lot of space to work with, it is best to use products that are going to increase the number of areas you have to store your items. We may have a lot of space in the fridge overall, but we do not have many shelves or drawers so it tends to be a free for all.
When I think about what most people are looking to organize in their fridge, I think of the items and areas below.
- Condiments
- Beverages
- Leftovers
- Produce
- Dairy
- Etc.
Aside from the manufactured shelves and drawers, I have found a number of products that have assisted with keeping the items in our fridge organized. These products make it easier for us to know what we have, restock, access items, etc.
A few of the products I am going to cover are acrylic bins, acrylic organizers, turntables, etc.

Assorted Refrigerator Storage Set
The best place to start when looking to organize your fridge is with an assorted set of acrylic fridge bins. These tend to come with a can dispenser and some assorted sized bines for various loose items. You can pick and choose how to use these but they give you a lot of versatility.
I got these bins when we first moved into our house and have used them in a number of ways. I use the can dispenser for seltzers and the acrylic bins for things like bagged lettuce or salad mixes, misc. items, produce etc. I also love the egg bin because it makes it easier to see how many we have at any given time. This gives me the ability to keep the wide open shelves organized so items aren't just thrown inside.
2-Pack Refrigerator Pull-Out Drawers
Sometimes the acrylic bins can be tough because you can't stack them. Event the ones that have lids and can be stacked can be hard because you have to move anything on top to get to the lower bins. These stackable drawers are great because you don't have to move anything to access what's inside.

As I mentioned before, we have a very basic model fridge and are doing our best with keeping it organized based on its limitations. Thankfully these products help a ton. However, the fridge aesthetics below capture my DREAM fridge. I am always testing things out and seeing what works. Sometimes I'll purchase something and realize its not the best fit for our fridge so I will utilize it somewhere else in the house.
There you have it! These are my top suggestions for taking on your fridge organization project. I love utilizing organizational products to assist with giving loose items a home. As with any project, in order to keep things organized you will need to maintain the area, but these items will certain help.
Just a reminder, I usually take my bins out to wash them once every six weeks. If my fridge is getting really low on inventory, I will utilize that time to give them a deep cleaning. Otherwise I will give them a rinse when I am adding clean produce.
There are so many ways you can go about organizing your fridge to fit your needs but these suggestions should give you some ideas! As always, group like items together and remember to put the oldest items in the front so you can use everything effectively.
Happy organizing!
